AHRS Fault
I have a question to which you can perhaps answer. I had a AHRS 1 fault not failed but fault. Once on the ground the re initialisation did solved the problem. I had still white CAS message AHRS FAULT.
Checking the MEL, dispatch is allowed
VFR flight
Both PDF on AHRS2
and the say no autopilots available
Can we do a flight in IFR in VMC condition. The autopilot was available. Why the MEL say VFR, when I red it I interpreted VFR by VMC
If not why we can fly VFR and not IFR VMC. I don’t really see the problem to fly IFR, out of RVSM.
If you can provide my your opinion would be great.
Did EMBRAER made an error writing VFR instead of VMC? Because if you have AHRS Failed, in flight there is nothing telling that we need to avoid IMC and leave RVSM. So I don’t see how we cannot fly IFR only on VMC condition to be secure if we lose the second AHRS
Thanks by advance -

after more investigation, I Checked EASA MEL of all phenom (normal, E and EV) all the EASA MEL say VFR. Only FAA MEL say VMC
I can’t understand why but this is the answer for the moment -

02-25-2023, 09:42 AM #7I also had an AHRS 2 failure due to a problem between magnetometer 2 and AHRS 2. Because of that, the autopilot disconnected and I had to hand-fly the airplane from Florida to Turks & Caicos single pilot. Only on the ground I learned from another pilot who had the same issue, that I could have put the sensor of the PFD2 to AHRS1, and with that setting the autopilot would have worked! Good to know for the next time this happens.
