08-18-2022, 04:25 PM #1Introduction and High Groundspeeds
Hi everyone,
My name is (Username Protected) I’m new to this pilot’s forum and wanted to introduce myself. I work for Summit Aviation in Bozeman, MT we manage and operate a fleet of Phenom 300s and Praetors. I’m rated as SIC in the 300 and have been flying on charter for about a year. I look forward to interacting with everyone in this community and thought it would be fun to start off by starting a thread of fastest groundspeeds we have seen!
Here is my fastest GS. We were flying from KSLC to KBOS with a fuel stop in KDEC, on the leg KDEC to KBOS we saw 153kts at the tail and 600kts GS. We made it from over Ohio to Boston in just about 30mins!
I’m excited to everyone’s top speed. -

08-24-2022, 07:09 AM #6It is wonderful to travel with a tailwind. I wish it was more often.
There is a great web sit called www.groundspeedrecords.com.
They register aircraft speed records.
You are close to the record, but not quite there.

Tailwinds are very nice to have until you have to travel back westbound! Which unfortunately we did the next day, that leg was not fun.. LOL -

08-24-2022, 09:10 AM #8I belong to the “700 Club”
(A group of aviators who have flown commercial jets above 700kts G/S.)
Once on a 747-SP (741kts) about 45 years ago, and the other on a 777 (733kts) in 1995.
Now days on the “Mighty Phenom,” l’m lucky to see above 400.
It is a bitch to get old and not able to paddle as fast! -

08-24-2022, 09:23 AM #9(Username Protected) thank you for sharing! That is very amazing, I am bowing down to you! One for being in the "700 club" I think that is so cool, but also you got the opportunity to "Dance with the Queen" and that I am jealous of! I hope we get a chance to hear more from you and your stories!

08-25-2022, 01:21 PM #12(Username Protected), not only I had the pleasure of "Dancing with the Queen," I was her loyal subject for some 15 years. Best time of my life. They'll never built an aircraft like her again!
