Upgrading to SW Version 23.00
We have just recently taken delivery of serial number 505, a February 2019 Phenom 300E, (which on the spec sheet showed CPDLC equipped.) Upon completion of delivery I submitted a participation form to L3 Harris and were informed that our software version only supports ATN B1 and not FANS 1A. After some back and forth with Garmin, L3 Harris, and Embraer it is confirmed that we must have Embraer SW version 23.00 in order to meet the requirements for Enroute CPDLC.
We are currently at Embraer SW version 18.10. I see no applicable option SB's that would allow us to upgrade to the required software version. Has anyone successfully had their serial number added to an SB for a 2018-2019 300E that would allow for the software update? If so please provide information on how this was accomplished.
Thanks! -

11-17-2024, 12:46 AM #2I am picking up my new 300E next week, with both ATN and FANS1A CPLDC. I have lots of questions for the factory. I will ask and see if they have an answer on the software issue. is your system prior or post 3305?
I have submitted the form to L3, but have not heard from them yet. How long did it take you to get a response from L3? -

11-17-2024, 12:53 AM #3By the way Service Bulletin 505-31-0027 may be your answer. The title is INDICATING/RECORDING SYSTEMS - INSTALLATION OF G3000 LOAD 29.07 AVIONICS SOFTWARE AND CMC LOAD V8.30, and it goes into serials lowere than 505.

11-20-2024, 10:34 AM #618.10 is the highest load you’ll have on a legacy/non-E1 300. Even one designated as an “E”. We inquired a couple of years ago through Embraer if load 2X will ever be available or SB’ed for the older G3000 and were told no as it is cost prohibitive. That load is specifically set with the higher speed limits and other things unique to the E1 equipped jets. They stated it requires developing and certifying an entirely new load plus replacing a significant amount of avionics.

It looks as though we might have uncovered SB505-23-0006. This SB would allow for software improvements to FANS/1A for FAA CPDLC Data comm. Has anyone had this SB completed? If so what was your outcome with L3 Harris?
