2019 Phenom 300E Window Shade Assemblies
We currently have a 2019 Phenom 300E in PPI. The airplane is immaculate and the PPI is going along very well, as was expected given aircrafts low time of 460hrs and it's maintenance history. The issue that we are encountering is regarding the interior cabin window panels. Every single panel has signs of contact of the window shade against the lexan interior window. We thought this would be a simple fix of replacing the lexan on each assembly. The only part number available is for the entire assembly at almost $7500 per assembly. Embraer states that a CMM is not available for the assembly and it can only be replaced, not repaired. It is surprising to me that with so few hours and cylces, this deficiency is so relevant.
I am new to the 505 community so I am learning as I go. My questions are as follows:
1) Is this a common issue on the 300E's? (Window shades making contact with interior pane and scratching the lexan) It is my understanding that straight 300's had a different part number and did not have this issue.
2) Has anyone else encountered this issue and performed anything other than a replacement?
3) If we replace the assembly, is there an updated part number or engineering fix to keep this from happening in the future?
TIA -

11-27-2024, 09:45 AM #6I'm sorry it's taken so long to get a reply. The answer that has come back, is that they just clean with standard class cleaner and a microfibre cloth on the Lexan. The problem is that the material the shade is made out of seems to perish quickly with UV exposure. So its a case of regularly cleaning it basically.
