06-22-2024, 08:59 PM #1P300 Bat 1 failed first cap check
My 2019 300E just got outta 60mo and the Bat1 failed the first cap check at 48 minutes then passed after a recharge at 54 minutes.
I’m curious as to what the implications of this are other than I need to do another cap check sooner. Is my bat1 going to die on me soon? Should I plan on replacing? It’s a Concorde.
Anyone have experience with this sorta thing? -

From past experience servicing aircraft Batteries, I have seen Batteries fail the first Cap. check, pass the second and continue with their normal cycle of life. Sometimes the electrolyte level drops and all we do is add distilled water and this helps. Perhaps, check with your service center on the next battery inspection and start following any unusual trends. In the mean time always take care of your batteries as usual and avoid heavy amp loading as possible. -

We have had that happen from time to time in our fleet of aircraft with the concord batteries (we have 14 Phenom 300's), its not uncommon and the maintenance manual tells you if it fails charge it up and try again, and 95% of them pass the second cap check. The best recommendation I have is just make sure you keep your batteries charged up. I don't know what your flying schedule is, and or if your airplane sits a lot. But a battery tender is a good idea if the aircraft sits for extended periods of time. Good thin is last time I checked there was not a shortage of batteries out there, so if you do need one you can get one.
