Static Wick / Dischargers on Rudder

I recently lost a total of 4 static wick / dischargers over the course of a few flights (recurrent training preparation and check ride - lot of time single engine…). All TFOAs were from the static wicks on the rudder, none elsewhere. Just curious as to whether or not others have seen similar “results”. Also - when replacing the static wicks, any recommendations on temporary Locktite? Thanks.

Yes - back in 2019 we did three in-airplane type ratings in my 300 and we lost at least a rudder static wick each time. I bought several (they are pretty inexpensive) and just replaced it. Doesn't look that high up from the ground, but when you stand on top of a ladder it is a bit sketchy!

Thanks, (Username Protected). Did you just hand tighten, or did you use any locktite when you replaced them?

I just hand tightened them, not sure what the Maintenance Manual calls for.

AMM says apply LOCTITE 241 to the threads, install and then perform functional test (with megaohmeter).
