    EOC'23: Phenom 300 W302 Harness Routing Improvement

At EOC'23, Embraer gave us a deeper look at the issue behind SB505-00-0027 - W302 Harness Routing Improvement.

The original field reports was a bunch on unrelated CAS indications. After investigation it was revealed that the steering overtravel spring was impacting a wire bundle infant of the rudder pedals.

I think they said that they estimate that only two planes in the fleet were likely affected by this, so the SB does not have be performed until the next 60 mo inspection.

I just had my plane in for maintenance and ask them to perform the SB. My Embraer Tech Rep recommended inspecting the wiring harness bundle location before implementing the SB. According to him, the issue does not affect older serial numbers and was a manufacturing issue not a design issue. Some of the new numbers had a harness clip mounted slightly off center resulting in the interference between the bundle and the rudder pedal assembly. In my case the bundle was correctly located so no need for the SB; a quick peak was all it took.
