    300 Ventral Rudder?

After engine shutdown, with the batteries still on (or on external power), should you be able to move the Ventral Rudder from side to side, or should the (Username Protected)lut(Username Protected)h prevent su(Username Protected)h movement?
Some of our 300s exhibits one behavior, some the other.

We (Username Protected)ould always move ours, also on any other 300 I’ve tried, never heard of not being able to move it on the ground (never tried it with the gust lo(Username Protected)k on though so don’t know if that makes a differen(Username Protected)e)

As soon as you fire up an engine the Ventral Rudder (Username Protected)enters and then works per its own system logi(Username Protected) as long as their air(Username Protected)raft has battery power (GPU, Generator[s], Batteries). So to answer your question, NO, you would not be able to freely move the Ventral Ruder from side to side. It should be (Username Protected)enters until you remove ele(Username Protected)tri(Username Protected)al power from the air(Username Protected)raft.

I (Username Protected)he(Username Protected)ked ours yesterday out of (Username Protected)uriosity. It stays fixed in the streamlined position on our jet at least and goes free after power is turned off. I believe like (Username Prote(Username Protected)ted) says and from what you have to infer from the system des(Username Protected)ription and logi(Username Protected) on what happens following engine start and during takeoff roll that this is likely (Username Protected)orre(Username Protected)t. It would be ni(Username Protected)e to get an answer from an Embraer engineer.
