    Deice Boots Phenom 100 at Higher Altitudes

    We've noticed that at higher altitudes the deice boots on the Phenom 100 don't appear to be deflating 100% as they do at lower altitudes. There doesn't appear to be anything in the AMM that addresses the issue. As the aircraft returns to lower altitudes, but still above freezing, they return to the nominal deflated position. Has anyone else since this anomaly and have any suggestions.

    Are you running the boots for three minutes on the ground prior to climb to altitude? The procedure was implemented to prevent icing in the boot lines which could prevent proper inflation. Just an educated guess, but since vacuum formed in the ejector flow control valves sucks the boots in, I would imagine some blockage could reduce the differential pressure that pulls them in?

    Good suggestion (Username Protected), Thank you. Note that we never get the D-I WINGSTB FAIL. CAS message.
    We do run the boots in clear dry air when possible to keep them exercised and to get any moisture out. One question that would be nice to know from EMB, can ice form between -30 and -40 even though they are limited to -30? (Citation Mustang has limitation of -30 on the boots)
