    Low Utilization Inspection

Forgive my ignorance here, still trying to learn all the intricacies.

My Traxxall site is telling me I have a Low Utilization Inspection due in August. I am confused on these -- does accomplishing the Hot Section prevent the need for LUIs? Or is this a valid requirement I should be scheduling? Or is more information needed to determine?

I have about 2000 hours and hot section was accomplished in 2019.

Presumably this isn't covered by ESP Gold or EEC? Do I schedule this with Pratt or with a service center?

If your hot and cold sections were not disassembled and inspected by an approved facility within 12 years the engines were put into service, you would need a LUI.

When would a cold section have been disassembled? I guess I've never heard of that event. Is that the same as what I think of as the Hot Section inspection?

Trying to learn more about these too. I know they are required if you are on programs. Is it possible to skip the LUIs if off of programs? Even if one can skip the inspections, is it wise to do so?

It is part of the CH5 in the EMM so I would say it is not wise to skip the inspection, I P&W eyes they will say the engine is unairworthy. if you ever go to sell the aircraft this will have an impact on the value in my opion.

Just LUI popped up on my report. Maintenance guys told me will be a boroscope inspection performed by P&W. How long took yours? Cost?

Embraer Mesa did mine as part of my annual and it didn't add any additional time as far as I know. The cost was $4k.

    (Username Protected),

thanks. That’s interesting as my maintenance guys told me has to be performed by P&W and it’s 11K per engine. Have to check.

That’s way too much for a LUI. I think I got quotes between 2k and 5k total.
